Ingredients

Milky Shaved Ice
  • 2 cans Want Want Hot Kid Milk
Strawberry Jam
  • 200 g fresh strawberries chopped
  • 3 tbsp white sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon or lime juice
Strawberry Garnish
  • 200 g fresh strawberries chopped
  • 1 tbsp white sugar
  • 1 whole strawberry for topping
To Serve
  • Whipped cream

Method

Prepare the Milky Ice
  1. Pour the Want Want Hot Kid Milk into a freezer-safe container with a lid.
  2. Freeze overnight, or until completely solid.
Make the Strawberry Jam
  1. Add the chopped strawberries, sugar, and lemon (or lime) juice to a saucepan.
  2. Cook over low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened. Small chunks of strawberry should remain.
  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
Prepare the Strawberry Garnish
  1. Place the chopped strawberries into a bowl.
  2. Add the sugar and gently massage with your hands. Set aside.
Shave the Milk Ice
  1. Using a fork, scrape the frozen Want Want milk into fine shavings.
  2. Tip: take the frozen milk out of the freezer for 10mins before scraping it so it’s easier to work with. Work quickly so the ice stays fluffy.
Assemble the Bingsu
  1. Add a generous layer of shaved milk ice to a serving bowl.
  2. Spoon over the strawberry jam, followed by the fresh strawberries.
  3. Finish with a dollop of whipped cream in the centre and top with a whole strawberry
